Monique has been a photographer for 20 years. A people person with a warm personality, Monique interacts with people to get fun, animated pictures, but she's also discrete and unobtrusive and can capture wonderful moments as they unfold.
Monique has photographed weddings in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and the United States, and also works with numerous corporate clients.

Monique is also photographs for non-profit organisations to promote social causes, including ending homelessness (Old Brewery Mission), celebrating Inspirational Aboriginal Women, (Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal), working with battered women (Blue Metropolis), food security (NDG Food Depot) and promoting youth in sports.

Monique Dykstra is the author of two books: My Heart on the Yukon River and Alone in the Appalachians. She also worked for the Montreal Gazette for four years, doing portraits and interview of interesting Montrealers.
