newlyweds kissing in the stairwell after their wedding at Chateau Saint Antoine

What a gorgeous wedding venue! Like a gorgeous fairy castle sprung to life, the Chateau Saint-Antoine sits on the banks of the Richelieu River 45 minutes south of Montreal. I couldn’t quite believe it when I saw it, with its turret, lavish gardens and wrap around stone balcony. After the wedding ceremony, there’s even a touching dove release ceremony, which is super popular with brides and grooms. .After the dove release ceremony, there was champagne in the garden, some family pictures, then I took a stroll with the bride and groom through the gardens to take some photographs. .It was a super, super hot that day-- so hot that the poor bride, in her heavy beaded wedding dress, seemed to be melting in the heat. She didn’t complain, mind you—I think she was happy to get a little alone time with her man—but I decided to head inside the building to get her out of the heat. .It was dark and cool inside, and also blissfully quiet. We tiptoed through the building looking for places to take pictures when I came across this wonderful staircase. The bride and groom just looked at one another, then came together wonderful, romantic kiss. It was a truly magical moment.
