Inspirational Aboriginal Women
Inspirational Aboriginal Women was photography exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts by Montreal photographer, Monique Dykstra.
The exhibition featured nine aboriginal women who endured unimaginable hardships in their personal lives before arriving at the Native Women’s Shelter in Montreal.
Then, through hard work and sheer determination, these women rebuilt their lives and became role models in their communities.
The Fine Arts show consisted of huge, larger-than-life photographs, nearly 6 feet high, to honour these remarkable women and to celebrate the strong, capable women they have become today.
